Rural-to-Urban Transect in Warsaw

przekrój urbanistyczny final.jpg

“Rural-to-Urban Transect in Warsaw” is a project from a doctoral dissertation on the possibility of using GIS for urban analysis.
A Transect is a tool used initially in the life sciences to describe ecosystems. In urban planning, the Transect defines space and its organization by dividing it into zones with different building gradations. Basic information about the Transect can be found at transect.org.

The urban profile, taking into account the specificity of the development of Warsaw, has been divided into morphological, amorphous, and special zones. Click the map symbol below or this link to see an interactive map with a transect for Warsaw.
